Three draft thematic proposals for 2021 published by the Strategic Research Council
The preparation of the Strategic Research Council's 2021 thematic proposals is nearing completion. The Strategic Research Council proposes the following draft thematic proposals for the 2021 programmes:
- Demographic change - causes, consequences and solutions
- Environmental and social connections of life impoverishment
- Pandemics as a societal challenge
Well-being is proposed as a cross-cutting focus in all themes.
The draft theme proposals will discussed at a public consultation (in Finnish) on 28 May at 13.00–15.00. The event will provide the research community and users of research results with an opportunity to discuss the proposed themes with representatives of the SRC. This year, the consultation will be held as an online event. Register via this link by 26th May.
After the consultation, the SRC will examine the drafts and submit the finalised proposals to the FinnishGovernment. Traditionally, the proposals have been handed in in June, and the Government has made its decision during the autumn. After the Government’s decision, the SRC will start formulating research programmes and open funding calls based on the themes
